This Privacy Policy explains how Laravel (“UniTech,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). It reflects how our device marketplace platform works: helping you discover laptops, phones, and tablets, explore partner Stores, and use features such as search, filters, use-case picks, favorites, reviews, and customer support.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller for personal data processed through the Service is the UniTech entity operating the platform. Contact details are available in the app or on our website.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile. If you register, we may collect your name, phone number, password or authentication secrets (stored using industry-standard protections), city or location preferences, language settings, and optional profile details (such as a profile photo if you choose to upload one).
Activity on the Service. We collect information about how you use UniTech, such as pages or screens viewed, search and filter usage, product views, favorites, and interactions with banners or recommendations. We may use this in aggregate or pseudonymous form to improve discovery and relevance.
Reviews and support. If you submit product reviews or contact support (including live chat), we process the content of those messages and related metadata (for example, timestamps and thread identifiers).
Device and technical data. We may collect device type, operating system, app version, IP address, coarse timezone or locale, and diagnostic logs needed to secure and operate the Service.
Information from Stores. When you view a Store or product, we process data needed to display listings (for example, Store name, location fields they publish, and product attributes). Stores are separate controllers for data they collect from you when you transact with them outside or inside their channels.
3. How we use information
We use personal data to:
- Provide and maintain accounts, authentication, and core app features;
- Show relevant products, Stores, categories, and use-case collections;
- Operate moderation, fraud prevention, and platform safety;
- Respond to support requests and improve customer experience;
- Measure usage and performance (including analytics events) to improve the Service;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
Depending on your region, we rely on one or more of: performance of a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (improving and securing the platform, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights), consent (where required, for example for certain marketing or optional cookies), and legal obligation.
5. Sharing of information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who host infrastructure, send notifications, or provide analytics, subject to confidentiality and processing agreements;
- Stores to the extent needed to display their public storefront and listings (Store-facing information is generally controlled by the Store);
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the Service.
We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense of exchanging data for money. If we use advertising or attribution partners in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required, obtain consent.
6. Retention
We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs. Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards unless a longer period is required by law. Support logs and analytics may be retained in aggregated or shortened form.
7. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit where applicable and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage strong passwords and caution when sharing sensitive information in chat.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; or withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may exercise these through in-app settings (where available) or by contacting us. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under the age where parental consent is required for data processing in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children without appropriate consent.
10. International transfers
If we process data in countries other than your own, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms) where required by law.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated through the app or by other reasonable means.
12. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact us through the options provided in the UniTech app or on our website.
